Best Lebanese cookbook you will every own
Simply and understandably written for anyone who cooks Lebanese food or not, great cookbook, bought 5 for giveaways to my family

Excellent, Delicious, Nutritious...what more can I say?
This book is well laid out with a myriad of Lebanese dishes. The Author being Lebanese-American has adapted the recipes easily to the American Kitchen and Supermarket. Everything I have tried out of this cookbook has been delicious. I grew up eating this kind of food and the smells and flavors take me back. I would highly recommend this book for anyone that wishes to learn and more importantly eat Lebanese food. The copy I have has nutritional information with each recipe. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I would have like more pictures and to have them with the recipes themselves. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A Great Cookbook!
I have really enjoyed owning this cookbook. My great-grandparents were from Lebanon so I've grown up eating Lebanese food but this was the first Lebanese cookbook that I've seen where the recipes are just like what I used to eat at Sittee's house on Sunday after church. Also, I want to add that the recipes are relatively easy and require ingredients that you can get at your local grocery store.

I HIGHLY recommend it!

like sita used to make
this book is extremely simple to read and understand and very much like the country recipes from rural lebanon that my grandmother (sita) used to make.

Awesome Recipes
when I bought this cook book I wasnt sure what was going to come out of it. I recently became engaged to a lebanese man and wanted to learn all about the lebanese food and how to prepare it. This one was the one I first choose as it seemed "cooker friendly". Its a wonderful book! I can now make food that he introduced me to and the entire family enjoys all that I have made. I would tell anyone who is looking for healthy cooking to buy this book its 100% A+ for easy recipes!

Grandmother Memories
My grandmother was Irish but married a man of Syrian and Lebanese descent. My favorite memories were of my grandfather grinding the lamb to make kibbe; my grandmother making baba ganoug, stuffed squash and laban and rice and lentils. A dear family friend often spoils my mother and sisters in making wonderful Lebanese feasts yet I am the only one in my generation today who makes these recipes and reading this book brought back wonderful memories of incredible, simple food, great smells and a sense of family dearly missed. Even if you are not Lebanese, the receipes are easy to follow and are fresh, healthy food that everyone can enjoy.

Lebanese Food for the Mass
I thoroughly enjoyed making many of the recipes in this cookbook. "Marinated Chicken" was delicious and filled the apartment with wonderful aromas. I can only imagine this one grilled.

The recipe for "Green Beans with Meat" is amazing, and uses such a small amount of meat that vegetarians could leave it out and not heavily affect the taste. Whether served as a main dish over rice or as a side dish, this is one that will appear on my table often.

The only weakness I found was that which the book focused on, simplicity. I longed for further ways to serve falafel beyond the simple "put in pita" listed on the box. Kibbee can be served raw, fried, or baked. It can be stuffed with meat or served plain. In some cases however, the differences were so slight they would have been better listed as variations.

This book accomplishes its goal. By giving you simple recipes for Lebanese foods that we are familiar with, she ensures that the cuisine lives on. This is an especially appealing book for those who are concerned about their diets or are vegetarians looking for food that is not only good for you but taste good too.

Great recipes
I was a little leery of Lebanese food before I tried some of the recipes in this book --- but WOW!. They were delicious and surprisingly easy to make. I went through the whole book already and now I'm making my favorites again.

Best Lebanese Cookbook on the Market
Mrs. Kalush has made my favorite Lebanese dishes a joy to prepare. The recipes are clear and simple; the pictures are fabulous! Even I, anything but a "seasoned" cook, can prepare these. Living in a small city with no Middle Eastern restaurants, this cookbook has become one of my favorites. Of special importance to me are the nutritional values included in each recipe. I hope Mrs. Kalush will not stop at this first endeavor...she has an extraordinary talent!
